About Us
Mountain Lake Ranch
We are a Christian retreat center that provides affordable lodging accommodations and venue space for groups and individuals. We are located in Dandridge Tennessee, just outside of Sevierville and Pigeon Forge near Dollywood. Over the past 20 years hundreds of lives have been changed as people come to know the Lord, while others have recommitted their lives while at the ranch. We are a place for people to come to meet with Him.
Tom & Betty Munson
Tom was born in upstate New York. He became an orphan after his mother abandoned him at the age of 2. For the next 8 years he bounced from one foster home to another, until he eventually ended up at an orphanage where he was adopted at the age 10. Thirty years later and after two tours in Vietnam, he found his natural mother and led her to the Lord. About this time he met Betty who was born in Toronto, but had been raised in Florida. They married and eventually moved from Clearwater Florida to Dandridge Tennessee to start a ministry that ministers to whoever God sends their way. Since then, hundreds of churches and various other groups have enjoyed weekend retreats and summer camps at Mountain Lake Ranch. During this time, many young people have found the Lord and dedicated their lives to Christian service.
Tom’s heart is also for helping those who have served our country in the military. He knows first hand how lacking the assistance is for this group and is constantly looking for ways to use the Retreat/Conference center to meet the needs of this special group of people.
On October 28th, 2013 their youngest son, the only one to be born in Tennessee in 1986, was killed on his motorcycle. He was an officer with the Knoxville Police Department. Tom and Betty still grieve for their precious son, but they and their other two sons Tim and Daniel continue to seek God’s direction in their lives and welcome all who the Lord sends their way.
